“Leeds Sixth Form students can access high quality activities open to everyone, regardless of age or ability.”
Many of the activities at Leeds City College are delivered free of charge. They take place across all campuses using sixth form and community facilities by the Get Active team, qualified coaches, and instructors. New activities and opportunities will be introduced throughout the academic year. To keep up to date with everything that is going on please visit our Facebook page.
Here are a few of the activities available for students:
Active Body Active Mind
Sport and activities can be a great way to deal with any insecurities or health issues. Active Body Active Mind ambassadors are available for one-to-one meetings to design a programme catered to your individual needs and support you with overcoming personal issues.
Sessions are run weekly and led by established coach Norman Francis.
A great way to let off steam, sessions involve non-contact boxing work, led by qualified coaches.
Duke of Edinburgh
We run the Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinburgh awards, open to all students.
We compete in the AoC league. There are also monthly inter campus five-a-side tournaments held at the Power League. All abilities are welcome.
These are 45 minutes in length and include HITT, strength and conditioning, and flexi-stretch.
Specialised gym programmes with our Get Active gym instructor.
Meet on a weekly basis and act as student volunteers, supporting a range of activities. They receive a formal qualification for volunteering and leadership work.
Have a quick match or be coached to be part of the college’s sixth form team.
