Photography is a medium that has seen vast growth in its importance as a means of both communication and expression. The course is an exploration of the practice, theory and art of photography which introduces you to a wide range of influences, approaches and technologies, both digital and analogue, allowing you to develop your own creative and technical skills.
The emphasis is on producing creative work based on an understanding of the techniques involved, with reference to the work of exemplary practitioners in the field. We give you a hands-on understanding of both the medium and creative process, and you will become familiar with styles and techniques ranging from the simplest equipment and materials that you can make at home, right through to the latest digital technology.
There are no additional formal entry requirements for this subject. Places on the A level Photography course are subject to a two week initial assessment period.
